Kirsten Winkler is the founder of Winkler Media. She also is the founder and editor-in-chief of EDUKWEST, an online media site that features startups, trends and interviews with innovators and thought leaders in the education space.
Covering online education since early 2009 Kirsten Winkler quickly became one of the preeminent blogger in education technology, earning her the “Best New Blog” title at the Edublog Awards 2009 and an EdTech Digest Leadership Award in 2013 among others.
Kirsten also writes the Disrupt Education blog for the renown online publication Big Think, one of the Top 100 websites of Time Magazine in 2011 and has worked for Today’s Campus, a leading magazine in the higher education space as Innovation Editor.
She is also one of the first educators who used YouTube as an educational platform. Her Deutsch Happen project that launched in 2008 has gathered more than a million views up to today and is available for learners of German as a foreign language free of charge.
Furthermore, Kirsten Winkler joined several education startups and nonprofits as advisor.
